Animal Portrait Prices

I charge $4 per square inch for oil portraits of pets and animals.

  • Each additional pet: +$1 per square inch

  • Detailed background: +$.50–$1 per square inch

  • Minimum charge: anything smaller than 9x12” is priced at the 9x12” rate

  • The amount of subjects that will fit on each canvas size may vary

Human Portrait Prices

I charge $5 per square inch for portraits of people.

  • Each additional face: +$1 per square inch

  • Detailed Background: +$.50-$1 per square inch

  • Minimum charge: anything smaller than 9x12” is priced at the 9x12” rate

  • The amount of subjects that will fit on each canvas size may vary

Common Sizes (one person):

  • 9x12” – $540

  • 11x14” – $847

  • To calculate the price of a painting:

  • Step 1: Find the total square inches of the size you choose by multiplying Length times Width. For example, let’s say you choose an 11x14” painting. You would then multiply 11 times 14 and get the product 154”.

  • Step 2: Find the price per square inch. For example, let’s say you want a pet portrait of two pets and a semi-detailed background. That would be the minimum of $4 plus $1 plus $.50 which equals $5.50.

  • Step 3: Multiply the product (154” in this case) times the price per square inch ($5.50). Now you get the Price $847
